Overview

Dozens of real businesses modelled end to end, grouped by family. Pick the group closest to the business — each page shows what moves, the exact setup, and the trap to avoid.

These are complete, worked models for real businesses. For each one the first question is always what moves? — then the setup follows. They're grouped into families in the sidebar; open the one closest to the business you're modelling. Most businesses mix several blocks, so model each line for what it is and let them coexist.

How to read each example

Every industry below follows the same shape, so you can scan it fast:

  1. Moves — the building block(s) the business is made of.
  2. Setup — numbered steps to model it.
  3. Trap — the mistake people make, and what to do instead.

If the exact business isn't listed, find the closest one — the modelling is the same for its neighbours. When unsure which block something is, run the decision tree.

Quick reference by industry

Fast lookup. "Dominant blocks" lists the main building blocks; nearly all businesses also carry some retail.

The recurring lesson across all of them: you never chose a "business mode". You named what moves on each line and combined the building blocks. A business no one has described yet models the same way.
